Drug Addiction

Drug overdoses have more than tripled since 1990.

About 20% of Americans who have depression / anxiety also have issues with substance abuse.

Every day, about 130 Americans die because of an opioid overdose.
Since 1999, opioid sales have risen 300%.

About 494,000 Americans (over the age of 12) use heroin regularly.

Approximately 25% of people who try heroin once, will become an addict.

In 1990, the average batch contained less than 4% THC. The average batch now contains over 12%.

16% American men / 12% American women smoke cigarettes.

In 2018, 4% of 12th graders admitted to trying cocaine at least once.

774,000 Americans regularly use meth (about 48% of them are between 12-17 years-old)..

Between 2011 and 2016, the number of fatal meth overdoses tripled.

In 2017, 1.2 million Americans experimented with a hallucinogen for the first time, and of the 1.2 million, 344,000 of them were between the years 12 and 17.
